About Us



Kinder is an exciting time for all.  For some it is the first school experience and another step in a life long quest for knowledge.  The experiences you have help create memories that will last a lifetime. 

We hope to create a classroom environment that allows for meaningful relationships to develop and flourish for years to come. Our classroom will be a safe and caring place for children to experience success.

I grew up in Saskatchewan with my parents and two siblings.  I chose to attend University in Alberta where I have stayed and created my own family. Family is a very important part of my life.  I married my best friend, Ryan and we have two beautiful children Knox and Ivy.  We are an active family that loves to be outdoors and travel. 

I have taught grades K-9 in some capacity and enjoy working with students of all ages.  I have a Masters in Counselling Psychology and recently completed my yoga teacher training. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your littles.    






Mrs.McEvoy

My name is Jamie McEvoy.  I grew up in Saskatchewan in a small town, and attended the University of Saskatchewan where I earned a degree in Developmental Psychology.  I then moved to Calgary to complete my degree in Education.  I also have a Master in Education from Gonzaga.  I have taught in Medicine Hat and here in Calgary.  I began teaching Junior High, but have spent most of my career teaching grades one, two, and Kindergarten. I have a husband, a young son, and two dogs, who all keep me very busy!

Math -This week in math we have been measuring objects by length.  We have been comparing two objects as shorter or longer as well as challenging ourselves to order more than two objects by length. -We have continued to play math games that use dice and cards to reinforce counting, subitizing, and number recognition. Literacy -We focused on the comprehension strategy of making predictions. We read the wordless picture book called Crocodile Blues and used the pictures to make educated guesses that make sense. Snack -Just a reminder that snack is only about 10 minutes.  Please only send one or two small nutritious snack items. Tuesday, September 17

Hello Everyone, Over the last few days we have continued to participate in activities to build our classroom community and get to know each other better.  In Math we have begun to work on sorting objects in more than one way and explain the sorting rule.  In Literacy students have been participating in read a louds, responding to reading, printing the letter F, the sound that F makes and words that begin with F. We have also gone outside with both AM and PM classes to the pond as part of environmental education.  The students came back and recorded as a whole class what they saw, what the walk made them think about, and what they wondered while they were there. In gym the students have been exploring movement with music. Please remember to return the school forms if you have not already done so.  Interviews are this Thursday and Friday and therefore there will be no school for Kindergarten students on either of these days.
